Resident A: a few nights ago some outsiders( non-resident) tried to use the road that we close during night times. we had put a barrier there, but the outsiders claimed that we have no rights to close the road.
Policeman: yes. according to the law only we police and jpj have the right to close the roads, you residents do not have the rights to do so.
Resident A: so we don't have the rights to close the road? but i've seen many other housing areas closing their roads during night time?
Policeman: i don't know how or why the other housing areas close their roads, but according to law you cannot close the road.
Resident A: ok. but those outsiders damaged our barrier before they left? is this against the law?
Policeman: if the barrier were set by police or jpj then we can charge them for damaging public property.
Resident A: but the barrier was set by us and we own it, they damaged it, is this against the law?
Policeman: if the barrier were set by you then it is illegal, so their action damaging the barrier is not against the law.
Resident A: ...... (speechless)
Resident B: if the law doesn't allow us to set the barrier but we still set it, then other people come and damage it, they are not wrong. is this correct?
Policeman: yes.
Resident B: then, if i park my car at the place with the sign "no parking", then someone come and destroy my car, they are still not guilty?
(All the residents were clapping at the moment.)
Policeman: yes. they are not guilty.
Everyone there : ....... (speechless)
